On three-nucleon stripping processes

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1965-1970)

Summary

The three-nucleon stripping process is considered, taking into account the individual character of the captured nucleons. It is found that the relative angular momenta of these nucleons have large effects on the shape and magnitude of the differential cross-section as the incident energy increases. The reaction9Be(α, n0)12C is considered and the effect is studied as a function of the energy of the projectile. Good agreement with the experimental data is obtained in cases when the earlier stripping treatment does not give satisfactory results.
