On the theory of double-charge-exchange nuclear reactions with π-mesons

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento B (1965-1970)

Summary

The cross-section for double-charge-exchange nuclear reactions with pions for 1p shell nuclei is calculated in the impulse approximation. The comparison with the other theories is discussed. The numerical results for the measured cross-section are given and the expected angular distribution is shown.

  9. Parsons et al. (8) have proposed a model in which pion-nuclear interaction has been calculated using the Chew and Low static model. We have proposed (9) a double-stepped process where the pion-nucleon interaction has been treated by an averaging method andBarshay et al. (10) used the isobaric model for pion-nucleon interaction, the double charge exchange taking place on a pair of nucleons.
