On the stacking fault energy in Pb

Summary

Using a phenomenological energy wave-number characteristic we calculated the stacking fault energy for lead. The results are compared with the experimental data; the agreement is satisfactory. We also discuss how the boundary conditions can give rise to a phantom effect.

Usando una funzione caratteristica energia-numero d’onda di tipo fenomenologico, si è calcolata l’energia dovuta a un difetto di impilamento per il piombo. I risultati sono confrontati coi dati sperimentali: l’accordo è soddisfacente. Si discute anche come le condizioni al contorno possano dare luogo ad un effetto fantasma.

Испольэуя феноменологическую характеристику знергетического волнового числа, мы вычислили знергию обраэования дефекта для свинца. Реэультаты сравниваются с зкспериментальными данными: согласие удовлетворительное. Также обсуждается, как граничные условия могут привести к воэникновению « фантомного » зффекта.
