His publications include Children and Their Caretakers(ed.), The Alcoholic Self, The Recovering Alcoholic,and On Understanding Emotion.

He has acted as guest editor for the Journal of Political and Military Sociology,and has publications in policy sciences, systems sciences, systems management, systems analysis, civil-military affairs, advanced machine intelligence, and brainpower productivity.

He is the author of The Many Faces of Socialism, Political Pilgrims, Soviet and American Society,and The Survival of the Adversary Culture.

With Marc R. Tool, he is editor of the trilogy State, Society, and Corporate Power; The Methodology of Economic Thought;and The Economy as a System of Power.Professor Samuels is past-editor of the Journal of Economic Issuesand present editor of Classics in Economicsfor Transaction Books.
