His most recent work in the sociology of religion is “From Durkheim to Managua: Revolutions as Religious Revivals” in Durkheimian Sociology: Cultural Studies,edited by J.C. Alexander.

He is author of Metaphysics and the Mind-Body Problem, Feminism and Freedom,and many papers on the philosophy of science in Journal for Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Social Science,and elsewhere.

He was founding editor of The Washington Quarterlyand is author of, among other works, Grave New World; The First Duce: D’Annunzio at Fiume;and West European Communism and American Foreign Policy.
