She is a member of the editorial board of the Slavic and East European Journaland writes on social themes in Russian and Soviet literature and on Soviet society.

William Foote Whyte is codirector of Programs for Employment and Workplace Systems in the New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University. He is author or coauthor of many books, including Street Corner Society: The Social Structure of an Italian Slum, Worker Participation and Ownership: Cooperative Strategies for Strengthening Local Economies,and Learning from the Field.

He has taught at Brandeis University and the University of Miami, Ohio, and is author of Hebrew Christianity: The Thirteenth Tribeand Migrants from the Promised Land.
