Gerald D. Jaynes, study director of the Committee on the Status of Black Americans, is on leave from Yale University where he is professor of economics and Afro-American studies. He is a member of the Black Enterprisemagazine Board of Economists, an adjunct fellow of the Joint Center for Political Studies, and author of Branches without Roots: Genesis of the Black Working Class.
Robin M. Williams. Jr., is Henry Scarborough Professor of Social Science, Emeritus, at Cornell University and editor of Sociological Forum.He began his research on racial and ethnic relations in the 1930s, and his publications include The Reduction of Intergroup Tensions, The American Soldier. Strangers Next Door,and Mutual Accommodation.He has been active in public service for many years.
