Irving Louis Horowitz is Hannah Arendt Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Political Science at Rutgers University and editor-in-chief of Transaction/SOCIETY. He has written on issues of science and policy, including The Rise and Fall of Project Camelot: The Relationship between Social Science and Practical Politics; The Use and Abuse of Social Science; Equity, Income and Policy;and Constructing Policy.He is completing a work on the politics of scholarly publishing, Communicating Ideas.
