He is author of more than 190 publications, and he has been the principal investigator for many grant-funded research projects. His areas of expertise include teenage pregnancy, adolescent depression and suicide, adolescent substance abuse, and welfare reform.

Her areas of expertise and publications include work on spousal violence, teenage pregnancy, methodological issues in conducting cross-cultural research, and family issues such as dual-employment.
