Jerome Friar has photographically documented issues of social and economic concern in the American South for more than ten years. These photographs are part of his five-year study of white supremacist groups in North Carolina. Jerome Friar received two Catholic Press Association awards in 1986. His work has been widely published and exhibited and appears this year in the “Best of Photography” annual issue ofPhotographer’s Forum. He is currently photographing homeless people in Washington, D.C.
