Larsen is professor emeritus at the University of Washington, Seattle, and senior associate for social and behavioral science at the National Science Foundation, where he was previously director of the Division of Social and Economic Science. He advises management, and initiates and coordinates national and international activity to enhance the development of social, behavioral, and information science.
