He is author of Absolutism and Its Discontents: State and Society in Seventeenth Century France and England (published by Transaction); Changing Men: New Directions in Research on Men and Masculinity; Men Confront Pornography;and most recently, Against the Tide: Pro-Feminist Men in America, 1776–1990.He is working on a history of manhood in America.

He is author of The Broken Apple: New York City in the 1980s;and Social Science Theory,both published by Transaction Publishers.

He has reported for Hearst newspapers from four state capitals as well as from the United States Congress.

Kent Anderson has taught history at the University of Arizona and is the author ofTelevision Fraud. More recently, he was historical advisor for a television documentary on the TV quiz show scandals of the 1950s shown on PBS’The American Experience.
