Max Klinghoffer has for four decades been an active leader among America’s emergency physicians, including long service with the American Medical Association’s Committee on Disaster Care. For seventeen years he was director of O’Hare International Airport’s disaster plan. He is the author of the Disaster Manual for Hospitalsand of a series of articles in the Journal of Civil Defense.
