Additional information
John R. Totter was, before his recent retirement, a staff member at the Institute for Energy Analysis, Oak Ridge Associated Universities. A biochemist by training, he taught for fifteen years at the universities of West Virginia, Arkansas, and Georgia. From 1967 to 1972, he was director of the Division of Biology and Medicine at the Atomic Energy Commission.
