Walter Laqueur is a University Professor of Georgetown University, Chairman of the Research Council of the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, and Director of the Institute of Contemporary History and Wiener Library in London. He is the author of numerous studies of twentieth-century European politics and culture, including The Political Psychology of Appeasement,published this year by Transaction Books.

She is the author of Morals and Markets: The Development of Life Insurance in the United States.

He is co-editor, with Dick Anthony, of In Gods We Trust,forthcoming from Transaction Books.
