Abstract

The Collins report on “Future Organizational Trends of the ASA” neglects three important areas: the distribution of participation and membership of sociologist in the ASA; the role of regional societies; and the politics of the ASA. This comment addresses the former two points, leaving the third for the author to develop during his future tenure as Editor of TAS.
