Irving Louis Horowitz is the Hannah Arendt distinguished chair and university professor emeritus at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He is also the chairman of the board of Transaction Publishers, located at Rutgers. In addition toThree Worlds of Development he has authored a variety of books covering major developmental themes, includingFurther Studies on Three Worlds, Foundations of Political Sociology, Modernization and Militarization in the Third World, along with regional works centered on Latin America and Cuba.
