James B. Burnham is the Murrin Professor of Global Competitiveness at Duquesne University’s Donahue Graduate School of Business. This article draws on his monograph “American Steel and International Trade: The Challenge of Globalization” published by the Center for the Study of American Business at Washington University (St. Louis) in 1999. His current research interests include domestic and international financial markets and institutions, and international trade policy issues.
