David J. Myers is associate professor of political science at Penn State University. He is the author and coeditor of seven books and has published more than forty articles, book chapters, and reviews. His most recent publications include “Percepciones de una democracia bajo presion: Decadencia inevitable o refundacion?” in Andres Serbin et al., ed.;Venezuela: La democracia bajo presion (Caracas: Instituto Venezolano de Estudios Sociales y Politico/Editorial Nueva Sociedad, 1993); and The Latin American city: Reciprocal linkages in local and national development,Latin American Research Review (forthcoming, 1995).
