Electron diffraction study of the molecular structure of cesium metaborate

Abstract

The molecular structure of cesium metabomte is studied by gas phase electrvn diffruction. The molecule has Cπ symmetry with mean intemuclear distances (Texp= 1080(10) K) Rg(Cs-O) = 269.2(15) pm, Rg(CS...B) = 360(6) pm, αgαg(CsOB) = 125(1)°. It is found that the deformation frequency V(CsOB) = 57(5) cm−1.
