Conclusion

The development of a specialized eldercare program within this EAP has evolved in response to customer needs. Both as a nation and globally, organizations, agencies and corporations are looking for ways to deal with changing societies and demographics in response to the needs of our rapidly growing older generation. This EAP model provides for a stronger corporate investment as it strives to fill the gaps in the sometimes inadequate and overtaxed community resources. The EAR program demonstrates the ability of an EAP to assume leadership within the field in identifying and developing appropriate responses to work/family issues and encourages corporate/community cooperative efforts.

The EAR integrated system promotes proactive and preventative solutions by providing immediate access to skilled professionals who can both assist with resolution and link the caller to the appropriate services. The eldercare program has expanded the scope of this EAP program and provides a more complete “integrated whole” approach that addresses work/life issues for employees and their families.
