Electron interaction between encapsulated atoms and π-Electrons in a fullerene cage

Abstract

Ultraviolet photoelectron spectra of mono- and multiple metal atoms entrapped metallofullerenes are compared and discussed for the effect of the metal atoms to the cage. Encapsulation of mono-metal atom causes hardly any drastic change to the electronic structure of the cage, but it seems to be affected by multiple atom encapsulation.
