Abstract
The method of elimination of the photodetector dichroism effect on the results of optical measurements is proposed. For this purpose, two polaroids are placed before the photodetector: the first, a compound one, consisting of two halves with mutually orthogonal filtering directions, and the second one, whose filtering direction is oriented at an angle of 45° to the filtering directions of both halves of the first polaroid. The interface of the compound parts of the first polaroid passes through the middle of the laser-beam cross section. Even if the light polarization is changed at the input of the polaroid system, the output polarization of light is retained, and so is the total intensity of the two halves of the laser beam. An experimental test of this method has been performed.
