Investigation and optimization of generation characteristics for an XeCl excimer laser–Compressed-hydrogen IRS-converter system

  • Published:
Journal of Applied Spectroscopy Aims and scope

Abstract

A comprehensive experimental investigation of the power and spatial characteristics of XeCl electricdischarge excimer laser radiation and the power characteristics of a single-pass compressed-hydrogen IRS laser excited by the focused flux of this radiation is performed. The existence of optimum laser-radiation pulse energies and divergences which ensure the maximum IRS-conversion to different Stokes components is established. It is shown that, to estimate the optimum conditions of IRS-conversion to the first Stokes component, use can be made of a simple model of the description of a multimode focused pumping flux.
