An alternative description of dross formation when galvanizing silicon steels in zinc-nickel baths

  • Published:
Journal of Phase Equilibria

Abstract

The application of thermodynamics to industrial processes is an area of great interest to industrial researchers. Perrot and Reumont (Oct. 1994) addressed an important technical issue in after-fabrication galvanizing through a fundamental approach. However, the present paper reexamines available evidence and reaches some different conclusions as to the nature of the Zn-Fe-Ni phase diagram.
