Abstract

Calcium vapor pressure measurements using a direct-weighing Knudsen cell are described. The composition range investigated was 50 to 76 at. pct Si and the temperature range was 930° to 1220°C. Thoria and titanium metal were used as containers. The activities of silicon in the alloys were calculated by means of a Gibbs-Duhem integration.
