Abstract

A solid state electrochromic display with the following configuration: transparent conductor/WO3/Na1+xZr2SixP3−xO12/ Na0.3WO3/conductor has been fabricated and studied. The properties of the electrodes are shown to be dependant upon the preparation conditions. Two problems, specifically due to the solid state nature of this device, are also discussed. These are the incompatibility of the WO3 layer with the processes necessary to deposit a transparent electrode onto it, and the large resistance at the solid electrode/electrolyte interfaces.
