Zusammenfassung

Bei klinischen Studien zur adjuvanten Chemotherapie sollten die Empfehlungen des Internationalen Dokumentationssystems für kolorektale Karzinome (IDS) beachtet werden. Insbesondere soll das Krankengut nach dem TNM-System, 4. Auflage, klassifiziert werden und eine Stratifikation nach pN1, pN2 und pN3 sowie nach dem Operationsverfahren (limitierte gegen radikale Resektion, entsprechend dem Ausmaß der regionären Lymphknotendissektion) erfolgen. Bei der Auswertung sollte der prognostische Faktor Operateur berücksichtigt werden. Eine Qualitätskontrolle durch Angabe der Anzahl untersuchter Lymphknoten und des Anteils lymphknotenpositiver Fälle im Gesamtkrankengut ist erforderlich. Bei Studien zur adjuvanten Chemotherapie des Kolonkarzinoms wird eine unbehandelte Kontrollgruppe nach wie vor als berechtigt und notwendig erachtet.

In clinical trials on adjuvant chemotherapy, the data should be collected according to the “International Documentation System for Colorectal Cancer” (IDS). The patients should be classified according to the 4th edition of the TNM system. Stratification according to pN1, pN2 and pN3 and to the surgical procedure (limited vs. radical resection, extent of regional lymphadenectomy) is needed. In the end results analysis, the prognostic factor surgeon should be considered. For quality control, the number of examined lymph nodes and the proportion of node positive cases within the total of patients have to be stated. In clinical trials on adjuvant chemotherapy of colon cancer, untreated control groups are still considered justified and necessary.
