Abstract
We present results from the development of precision laser polarizing devices based on the doubling and summation of optical frequencies in the nonlinear crystal KD*P. This crystal enables the generation and detection of linearly polarized light with a degree of polarization of 10−9. The characteristics of the polarizers and analyzers are compared with other well-known types of polarizers.
