Conclusions

Crystal conformations and geometric parameters have been determined for 8-oxa-[10]-α-cyclothiene-1,7-dione.

The heteroaromatic ring and the associated carbon—carbon bonds are noncoplanar; the thenoyl fragment has O,S-transoid configuration and the carbonyl groups are approximately syn-parallel.
