Summary

A case of impending stroke is reported treated by creating an extra-cranial anastomosis. Excellent post-operative result. We recommend the operation under the following conditions: 1. The insult occurs in patients hospitalized at a specialized department. 2. Due to the artificial occlusion no time-consuming diagnostic measures are necessary. 3. Good anatomic conditions permetting short operation time.
