Abstract
The individual and combined effects of cold working (5 and 10 pct) and aging (4000 and 8000 h at 538 to 760°) on the microstructure and high-temperature yield strength of al-loy 800H have been investigated. The specimens were tested at the aging temperatures. During testing some of the specimens showed the phenomenon of serrated yielding. In order of importance, the principal hardening agents observed in this work were: cold work, the precipitation of Cr233C6 at the grain boundaries, and, in some cases, the precipitation of a Perovskite-type γ’ phase in the grain interiors.
