Isolated diverticulitis of the sigmoid colon

Summary

A case report of a patient who had a solitary diverticulum of the sigmoid that became imflamed and perforated is presented. The possible existence of such a lesion must be considered in the differential diagnosis of single ulcero-inflammatory lesions of the left side of the colon.
