Infectious syphilis of the anal canal

Summary

Infectious syphilis is being reported in increasing numbers and the prevalence of homosexuality in males is one reason for its increase. An improved awareness of the possibility that syphilis may be the cause of anal infections is necessary. Eleven cases of infectious syphilis of the anal canal are presented.
