Summary and Conclusions
Two hundred and nine cases of advanced hemorrhoidal disease involving all quadrants of the rectal outlet treated by creating a posterior anal flap were studied. Analysis of these cases showed:
-
(1)
A smoother and more rapid convalescence.
-
(2)
A more expansile anal canal.
-
(3)
Improved function.
Routine employment of a technic in which a protective posterior anal flap is utilized is recommended in the treatment of advanced hemorrhoidal disease.
