Zusammenfassung

Die Kanzerogenität von Eichen- und Buchenholzstaub wird auf der Basis epidemiologischer Ergebnisse, unter besonderer Berücksichtigung neurer, in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland durchgeführter Untersuchungen diskutiert. Frühere Vermutungen, wonach Holzinhaltsstoffe für die Kanzerogenität verantwortlich zu machen sind, konnten bisher nicht bestätigt werden.

Abstract

The cancerogenicity of wood dust from oak and beech is discussed on the basis of epidemiological results, with special emphasis to recent research carried out in the Federal Republic of Germany. Previous speculations according to which wood extractives are responsible for the cancerogenicity could not be confirmed yet.
