Abstract

A credentialing examination in emergency radiology was given to all residents in radiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center. A written and practical examination was given yearly to credential each resident as to his/her ability to accurately provide "solo" interpretation (without immediate supervision) of studies performed on an emergency basis. Eighty-four residents took the examination. Four residents failed the examination and either took make-up examinations or were closely monitored for the remainder of the residency program.
