Zusammenfassung

  1. 1.

    Mehrtägige perorale Verabreichung von Cholin führt bei Hunden und Menschen zu einer kurzdauernden Steigerung des Blutzuckers und einer längerdauernden bzw. mitunter erst später einsetzenden Steigerung der Blutketonkörper.—Der Blutfettgehalt verhält sich uncharakteristisch, ebenso das Körpergewicht.

  2. 2.

    Als Ursache der erwähnten Reaktionen wird eine Förderung der intrahepatischen Neubildung von Kohlehydrat aus Fett durch Cholin vermutet.
