Radiopathologic correlation in pseudomembranous colitis: Report of a case

  • Published:
Diseases of the Colon & Rectum

Summary

Pseudomembranous enterocolitis has been regarded as a complication of overwhelming infection, especially by staphylococci. Other contributing factors can include colonic obstruction, severe debility, leukemia, and abdominal surgery. Recent reports in medical literature have indicated that pseudomembranous enterocolitis may occur after lincomycin and Clindamycin therapy. We report a further case, describing the radiologic findings with pathologic correlation.
