Summary
The soil burial method, modified with respect to the special task, can be applied to determine the effectiveness of wood preservatives towards soft rot under practice-like conditions. This preliminary paper contains test results obtained with some water-borne preservatives, using beechwood blocks, partly after leaching. The investigations is being continued and extended to further types of preservatives and to coniferous wood.
