Abstract

This research is directed toward the development of a quantitative methodology for determining the number of kanbans in JIT systems. It involves building a logic structure of the methodology based on coloured-timed Petri-net theory. A computer simulation program is written to implement the methodology. This paper explains the methodology and gives a numerical example.
