Summary

In a series of 1,804 operations for cryptorchidism there were 68 reoperations. 51 of them were followed-up in average 4 years postoperatively. 40 testes were found to be in a correct, at least satisfying position. Only 4 testes were atrophic, 2 hypotrophic. Thus a two-stage operation in appropriate cases as well as correction of a recurrency is to be recommended, but should be performed within 6 months after the initial procedure.
