Summary

The clinical value of unilateral lung transplantation was not considered to be an expedient procedure for a long time. The group ofJoel Cooper in Toronto demonstrated it to be a save and purposeful procedure (5, 6, 7). We report about technical aspects of this operation from our experience in the first 2 successfully performed cases.
