Summary

25 male patients suffering from coronary artery disease were monitored continuously by trendscription before and after peripheral vascular surgery. 12 received prophylactic treatment by 120 mg/d oxprenolol. In this group heart rate and incidence of supraventricular tachyarrhythmias, ventricular ectopic beats and salves, R on T phenomenon, myocardial infarction and heart failure were reduced significantly during the early postoperative period.
