Zur Differentialdiagnose der Tumoren des vorderen Mediastinums

Zusammenfassung

Es werden die wichtigsten Tumoren des vorderen Mediastinums besprochen. Auf die Schwierigkeiten der Diagnostik speziell bei den Thymomen wird an Hand eines Fallberichtes hingewiesen. Die Indikation zur operativen Entfernung von Mediastinaltumoren besteht zum Zeitpunkt der Diagnose, da mit einer hohen Quote sekundärer maligner Degeneration gerechnet werden muß.

Summary

A review of the most important tumors of the anterior mediastinum is presented emphasizing the diagnostic difficulties in thymomas.

A “lump” in the mediastinum is the indication for operation, because there is a high rate of malignant degeneration. A typical case showing all the diagnostic difficulties is reported.
