Rayleigh waves in an orthotropic thermoelastic medium under gravity field and initial stress

Abstract

The aim of the present paper is to investigate the influence both of gravity field and initial stress on the propagation of Rayleigh waves in an orthotropic thermoelastic medium subject to certain boundary conditions. We suppose that the body is under initial stress alonqx 1-direction and incremental thermal stresses. The wave velocity equation has been obtained. Many special cases and comparison with the previous results have been studied.
