Summary

This paper reports on the characteristics of permafrost ground conditions of the shore zone of the Vilyuy Reservoir—the first major artificial reservoir in a permafrost area. It is indicated that under the warm influence of the reservoir degradation of permaforst occurs in its bed, resulting in the development of cryogenous and slope processes. Peculiarities of shore formation and observational data on the rate of the reworking of shores are given. The author points out that due to prevalent distribution of ground with a low ice content, the establishment of an equilibrium state of abrasion shore slopes can occur in the nex few years.

Résumé

L'article traite des caractéristiques du milieu de pergélisol de la frange littorale du lac de barrage de la Viljuj premier grand réservoir artificiel d'une région de pergélisol. Il indique que sous la tiède influence de la retenue, le pergélisol commence à se dégrader dans la vallée et qu'il en résulte le développement de processus cryogénétique de pentes. L'article expose les particularités de la formation du rivage et les faits d'observation concernant la vitesse du remaniement des rivages. L'auteur insiste sur le fait que, les sols à faible teneur en glace devenant plus nombreux, il pourra se constituer en quelques années un état d'équilibre entre érosion, rivage et pentes.
