Cryohemorrhoidectomy: Indications and complications

  • Published:
Diseases of the Colon & Rectum

Conclusions

Cryosurgery is well accepted by patients requiring hemorrhoidal surgery. Internal hemorrhoids are easily treated by cryosurgery. Prolapse, small anal tags, and combined hemorrhoidal disease may be treated by cryosurgery. Pruritus ani responds poorly to cryosurgery. Thrombosed and edematous hemorrhoids should be treated by methods other than cryosurgery. Large, thick skin tags and large prolapsing hemorrhoids should be trated by excisional surgery.
