Indikationen für die Arthroskopie des Kniegelenkes

Zusammenfassung

Die Indikationen für eine Arthroskopie ergeben sich aus der Möglichkeit, damit die Strukturen im Kniebinnenraum direkt zu inspizieren und zu beurteilen. So ist die Arthroskopie vor allem bei vermutetem Knorpelschaden am Knie-und/oder Femoropatellargelenk angezeigt, die sonst kaum exakt nachzuweisen sind; bei atypischer Meniskussymptomatik können von der Arthroskopie Aussagen zur Diagnose, ggf. zur Indikation und auch zur Wahl des operativ-technischen Vorgehens erwartet werden. Schließlich sind damit auch risikoarme Verlaufskontrollen -ggf. mit Gewebsentnahme — nach gezielten therapeutischen Maßnahmen möglich, wobei die Befunde photographisch dokumentiert werden können.

Abstract

The arthroscopy makes the kneejoint accessible for direct inspection; thereby the interior structures of the kneejoint can be seen clearly. The arthroscopy is indicated if there is suspect on a damage to the cartilage of the kneejoint and/or the femoropatellar joint. This condition can hardly be diagnosed by other means. If there is a lesion of the meniscus with atypical clinical symptoms, the arthroscopy may allow a diagnosis and renders possible the indication for surgery and the choice of the operative method. After treatment the arthroscopy allows longterm controls without risk — if necessary with biopsy; furthermore the findings can be documented through photography.
