Conclusion
Cryosurgical hemorrhoidectomy is a simple method. It not only alleviates the patient's symptoms, but also effectively eradicates all existing hemorrhoidal tissue. In this way, it has the same effectiveness as excisional surgery. However, it has eliminated the patients' fear of excisional hemorrhoidectomy, as well as many of the other disadvantages of excisional surgery. There is a tremendous economic saving to the patient and his family; the patient does not need to be hospitalized, anesthesia is not used, and the patient can return to work on the day after the procedure.
Cryohemorrhoidectomy is a practical, painless operation that can be done as an outpatient procedure for both internal and external hemorrhoids. It is as effective as excisional surgery in eradicating the underlying disease, and has none of the many inherent disadvantages of excisional surgery.
